Expression of Interest

At the 29th International Council for Science (ICSU) General Assembly in Maputo, Mozambique, held in October 2008, a resolution to form a new ICSU World Data System was adopted. This new WDS will replace the ICSU World Data Center system and the ICSU Federation of Astronomical and Geophysical data-analysis Services. These actions are a result of the ICSU Priority Assessment on Scientific Data and Information and the subsequent recommendations of the ICSU ad-hoc Strategic Committee on Information and Data. It is anticipated that many of the previous WDCs and FAGS will become part of the new WDS. It is also anticipated, and expected, that many other types of new data systems, services and activities will become part of the WDS.

To assist the WDS Scientific Committee in developing the new WDS, the WDS-SC is surveying and compiling expressions of interest in the new WDS. These expressions of interest are in no way binding, but will serve as critical input to the initial planning process for the new WDS. If your organization has interest in becoming part of the new WDS, please complete this brief survey found below. Completion of this survey in no way obligates your organization.
